The Pantry

Donations for families in the Family Network

Would you like to help bring hope and relief into the everyday lives of some of the most vulnerable families in Aarhus? "Will you share your bread with the hungry?" (Es 58:7)

Many of the families in our family network are currently lacking basic everyday items. Previously, we were able to distribute groceries through government inflation funds – but the supplies are running out, and the need is still great. So we need your help.

This is how you do it

– Buy some extra groceries when you go shopping (see list below)

– Bring it to the Sunday service

– Place the donations in the cushion box by the Family Network's depot door in the basement (by the cloakroom).

– We sort the goods on Monday morning

Important: Only unopened items in plastic, cans or glass! We cannot handle paper bags/open packages.

Suggestions for items we accept:

High priority

– Rice

Food

– Pasta, bulgur, tortillas

– Legumes (chickpeas, beans, lentils) - can or plastic bag

– Cooking oil

– Canned tomatoes, tomato paste

– Pickled goods in glass containers

– Corn

– Tuna, mackerel

Household

– Tinfoil

– Freezer bags

– Toilet paper

– Detergent

– Dishwashing soap

– Shampoo

You can also "spoil" the families a little with things that many families can rarely afford, such as chocolate spreads, treats, raisins, rice crackers or muesli bars for the children's lunch boxes.

If you want to drop off on a weekday, call Ingelise at +45 31 54 36 59 and set up a time to stop by.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to Citykirken's Pantry.

Kind regards,

The Family Network employees

A giant thanks!

We have now had the pleasure of the Pantry for a month and would like to say a big THANK YOU to those of you who have had the opportunity to contribute with donations. It has been a blessing to put all the items on the shelves to be able to subsequently distribute to the most needy families.

A woman came and got a large bag of groceries. In the 10 minutes we spent together, she told me about her daughter's PC that had broken, that she didn't know how they were going to afford a new one, about her son's difficulties and thus lack of work and one more mouth to feed, and about another daughter's mental challenges. It was amazing to experience how in those 10 minutes I could be Jesus' hands, feet and ears "just" because I had your gifts to share. The woman left feeling considerably relieved and grateful to you, the Family Network and not least God.

We find that your gifts are not only about making it easier for families to make ends meet, but that it gives them a feeling of being seen, loved and embraced.

Thank you for continuing to work to pass on God's love to these families!

Kind regards from the Family Network
